It was an exceptional year in Spain, where the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eiffageenergiasistemas.com\/eiffage-energia-ha-cumplido-el-100-de-los-compromisos-adquiridos-en-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eiffage Energ\u00eda Group<\/a><\/strong> achieved growth of more than 50%. The presentation of the 2019 Annual Accounts of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eiffage.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Eiffage Group<\/strong><\/a> was attended by the CEO and managing director of the Eiffage Energ\u00eda Group, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eiffageenergiasistemas.com\/jose-manuel-martinez-nombrado-delegado-del-grupo-eiffage-en-espana-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jos\u00e9 Manuel Mart\u00ednez<\/a><\/strong>. Consolidated <strong>net income<\/strong> increased by <strong>15.3%<\/strong> to <strong>725 million euros<\/strong>. In addition, the <strong>7.7% increase in the turnover<\/strong> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eiffageenergiesystemes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>\u00c9nergie Syst\u00e8mes<\/strong><\/a> area, of which Eiffage Energ\u00eda is a part, rose by 7.7% to 4,480 million euros should be noted. According to Eiffage Group CFO <strong>Christian Cassayre<\/strong>, this is mainly due to international growth of 19%, which is largely attributable to Eiffage Energia. The Group\u2019s <strong>current operating income<\/strong> amounted to <strong>2,005 million euros<\/strong>, <strong>8% higher<\/strong> than in 2018. Once again, \u00c9nergie Syst\u00e8mes achieved good results, both in France and internationally, increasing its margin by 4.6% compared to the 4.4% of the previous year. Among the highlights, there have been important developments in highway concessions and airport concessions, as well as an increase in the order pipeline in all contracting divisions.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Carbon footprint reduction. Pioneering strategy.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In the words of the Eiffage Group&#8217;s chairman and CEO, <strong>Beno\u00eet de Ruffray<\/strong>, \u201cin 2019, we have introduced an ambitious policy to heighten the Group\u2019s awareness of the challenges of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eiffage.com\/transition-ecologique\/strategie-climat-bas-carbone-et-energies-renouvelables\/construction-bas-carbone-et-mix-materiautique\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reducing its carbon footprint<\/a>\u201d. The Group has continued its strategy to reduce carbon emissions through an active awareness and training campaign for its employees. In this process, Eiffage has brought together a number of industrial partners around Sekoya, a platform dedicated to low-carbon materials and processes. The first call for solutions resulted in 57 French proposals for low-carbon emissions, five of which have been awarded.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Outlook for 2020<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Looking ahead to 2020, activity is expected to continue to grow, with more moderate results in procurement and progressive growth in earnings.
