We are building the new Repetco recycling plant in the Romica industrial estate, in Albacete, which has become the first circular industrial estate in Castilla-La Mancha. A project in which the Electrical Installations Departments; Mechanical Installations; and the company’s Building subsidiary, Conscytec, are involved.<\/p>\n

Repetco has trusted our company for the overall execution of the project. In this way, we coordinate and execute the civil works projects; electrical installations; mechanical; control; and property security.<\/p>\n

The new plant will have a maximum input capacity of 150,000 tons of mixed plastics of post-consumer food origin per year; and a production of 45,000 tons per year of rPET pellets. It will be finished at the end of 2022.<\/p>\n

This is a unique and innovative project. And for the first time, multi-layer PET\/PE containers will be recycled. This process represents a step towards sustainability and the circular economy. Eiffage Energ\u00eda’s premises in all its lines of activity.<\/p>\n

In addition, this project is part of the “Romica-Circular” project, which is committed to more sustainable and environmentally friendly production models. An initiative that promotes “industrial symbiosis”, which is capable of generating savings within the consumption of industrial estates.<\/p>\n

A philosophy that we share at Eiffage Energ\u00eda, where the circular economy is emerging as a necessary model, which leads us to rethink our way of designing, manufacturing and building. Reuse and recycling of materials, correct waste management.<\/p>\n

The development of circular economy solutions and their integration into Eiffage’s activities allows us to help alleviate the pressure on natural resources.<\/p>\n

Civil Works<\/h2>\n

The recycling plant will consist of six attached warehouses for the different recycling processes; as well as an office building, R&D and auxiliary facilities rooms. It will also have auxiliary facilities, such as an industrial wastewater treatment plant (WWTP); a tertiary treatment plant for reusing the water treated in the WWTP in industrial processes; a truck wash, etc.<\/p>\n

The structure and envelope of the buildings will be made of prefabricated concrete. Heights of up to 20 metres and spans of up to 33 metres are notable.<\/p>\n

Electrical installations<\/h2>\n

The electrical connection to the plant will be in Medium Voltage, with an installed power of 8 MVA. The building’s transformation centre will have three transformers in a (2+1) configuration of 4 MVA each. These will be connected to a 6300A CGBT and a cutting capacity of 100 kA. The plant’s protection system will be IT, except in offices and auxiliary service panels. These will have a TN protection system. The different electrical lines that will feed the process panels and auxiliary services will start from the CGBT.<\/p>\n

The plant will have a high degree of automation, with a control and supervision centre where the control SCADA will be installed. This will integrate, monitor and manage communications between the different process PLCs; as well as the production management programme. To achieve this control, it will be necessary to install the fibre optic and structured cabling installations necessary for the interconnection of the different points of the system.<\/p>\n
