Among the responses from various participants, there’s a notable concern regarding administrative challenges when carrying out photovoltaic projects, as well as a shortage of qualified personnel. Nonetheless, there is a consensus that the year 2024 will be highly positive for the sector due to the global commitment to renewables, especially solar power.<\/p>\n\n

Trends<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

On the most significant trends in the photovoltaic plant construction sector, Mat\u00edas Gotor emphasised the digitalization and automation of the construction process. \u201cWe are implementing advanced design and construction technologies, including the use of 3D modelling software and drones for inspections,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n

He states that at Eiffage Energ\u00eda Sistemas, \u201cwe have embraced the use of Digital Terrain Models (DTM), enabling us to optimise earthwork calculations, significantly reducing implementation costs and ensuring a more efficient and profitable solar plant operation in terms of OPEX\u201d.<\/p>\n\n

Another crucial aspect is sustainability and the use of innovative materials. \u201cEmerging technologies in solar panels promise higher efficiency and a lower environmental impact\u201d, he mentions.<\/p>\n\n

Regarding storage, our company is advancing the hybridization of technologies as a crucial component for the future of photovoltaic and wind projects.<\/p>\n\n

Business outlook<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

The Head of Renewable Energy Business Development at Eiffage Energ\u00eda Sistemas also talks about regulatory challenges and how the company is navigating them across different regions or countries, as well as business outlooks.<\/p>\n\n

On this last point, Mat\u00edas Gotor believes that, looking towards 2024, \u201cwe foresee a positive and significant evolution in the EPC business for renewable generation plants\u201d. He explains that we are witnessing sustained growth in the renewable energy sector, driven by a global urgency to shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.<\/p>\n\n

Furthermore, \u201cthe need to integrate various renewable energy sources and the demand for project design flexibility are becoming crucial factors, and we are ready to adapt to these changes\u201d, he emphasises.<\/p>\n\n

As for business prospects, \u201cour goal is to expand our presence in new markets and diversify our services to seize emerging opportunities in the sector. Ongoing investment in innovation and technological development is crucial for us, as it allows us to provide cutting-edge solutions to our clients\u201d.<\/p>\n\n
