Up to 14.1 more years of life. That is the number that can be gained by adopting healthy habits, according to the “The Time Machine” initiative promoted by Fundación MAPFRE and developed in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Family and Community Medicine (semFYC). On 13 May, this innovative campaign arrived at the facilities of Eiffage Energía Sistemas, as part of its commitment to the comprehensive wellbeing of its workers.
A mobile health unit at the service of the workforce
From early in the morning, a large bus, fitted out as a mobile health unit, has been at the headquarters of Eiffage Energía Sistemas, offering free medical tests and personalised assessments. The reception was very positive, with a high level of participation by the company’s staff.
Tests carried out have included:
- • Measuring cholesterol and blood pressure
- • Calculating their body mass index (BMI)
- • Metabolic and cardiac age assessment
The results, together with the attention of specialist professionals, allowed the participants to learn about their current state of health and to receive specific recommendations to improve their lifestyle, with the aim of preventing illnesses and gaining quality (and years) of life.
Committed to health and wellbeing
This action is part of Eiffage Energía Sistemas’ strategic workplace health plan, which includes regular initiatives to promote a corporate culture focused on prevention, physical and emotional health and the sustainability of the working environment.

With this event, Eiffage Energía Sistemas reaffirmed its commitment to people, health and corporate social responsibility, integrating high-value-added actions in its day-to-day work.
Healthy Lifestyle Habits
To stengthen this initiative and to persuade its entire workforce to improve their healthy lifestyle habits, Eiffage Energía Sistemas is preparing a new section on its internal communication platform called Healthy Lifestyle Habits.
This section will consist of a simulation of a digital magazine with a monthly publication. Each month, the Communication and Marketing Department will refer to one of the five habits to follow to enjoy a healthier lifestyle and gain years of life: healthy eating; physical activity; emotional wellbeing; how to avoid risky behaviour; and how to sleep well.
Each section will be based on the information offered by the Mapfre Foundation in its magazine “Guía para un estilo de vida saludable (Guide for a Healthy Lifestyle) as well as including interactive sections that can involve the entire Eiffage Energía Sistemas team.
Healthy eating
The first action, which will be launched in June, will focus on healthy eating. Thus, the company will offer information about the importance of fruit and vegetables; a top five list of healthy foods; a section on recipes; a questionnaire to provide answers about how much we know about the benefits of healthy eating; or frequently asked questions and answers on this subject.
