Iberdrola Spain has begun construction of its first two photovoltaic plants in the Valencian Community, which will have a combined capacity of 366 megawatts (MW). This strategic project, in which Eiffage Energía Sistemas is participating, aims to promote the energy transition, renewable autonomy in the region and local economic development.
Eiffage Energía Sistemas is playing a leading role in its execution, contributing technical expertise and operational capacity in the development of large-scale solar installations.
The Cofrentes I (184 MW) and Ayora 1 (182 MW) farms, located in the province of Valencia, will be key elements of infrastructure in Iberdrola’s solar expansion plan in eastern Spain.
Eiffage Energía Sistemas’ involvement
At the Ayora PV farm, Eiffage Energía Sistemas is involved in the Renewable Energy area, carrying out the complete execution of the plant in BOP mode, as well as its 30 kV underground evacuation.
The Ayora plant will become one of the most important PV facilities in the region in terms of capacity, size and technological level.
At the Cofrentes plant, Eiffage Energía Sistemas is involved in developing essential infrastructure for the evacuation of the energy generated, such as two 132 kV and 400 kV high-voltage overhead and underground power lines
This infrastructure will enable the efficient and safe evacuation of the energy generated by the plant, ensuring its integration into the electricity grid.
Boosting employment and the local productive fabric
The construction of both plants will have a significant impact in terms of employment and industrial revitalisation in the Ayora-Cofrentes valley. During peak construction periods, it is estimated that between 350 and 400 workers will be involved, generating job opportunities in the area and reinforcing the growth of the renewable energy sector.
Clean energy and environmental benefits
Once operational, the plants will generate a combined output of more than 650,000 megawatt hours per year of clean and sustainable energy, supplying 200,000 homes and preventing the emission of 52,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.
Commitment to sustainability and the local area
The project includes measures for environmental restoration, landscape integration and biodiversity protection in the areas of influence.
For Eiffage Energía Sistemas, this collaboration represents an important step in its strategy to support the energy transition, combining innovation, technological development and the creation of sustainable employment.
