Ramón Gero, Head of the Sustainability and Cross-cutting Innovation Department at Eiffage Energía Sistemas, recently shared insights with Infoenergética ,Ramón Gero, Eiffage Energía Sistemas, on the company’s progress, challenges, and future outlook in the field of electric mobility—one of the strategic pillars of its operations.
“Over the next 5 to 10 years, we foresee a large-scale, gradual expansion of fast and ultra-fast charging infrastructure along interurban routes and within urban environments,” he affirmed.
In this way, Eiffage Energía Sistemas is consolidating its position as a key player in romoting sustainable mobility, both through its deployment of charging infrastructure and the electrification of its own industrial fleet.
The company plays an active role in public initiatives such as the MOVES III programme, and also highlights the usefulness of the REVE map in improving planning and transparency in the roll-out of charging points.
Comprehensive Charging Solutions
From home chargers to ultra-fast points charging stations exceeding 150 kW, EES offers complete solutions tailored to market needs, prioritising efficiency, interoperability, and reduced impact on the power grid. The company is committed to smart energy management as a response to the technical challenges posed by rising power demand.
Flagship Projects
Among its most noteworthy recent projects is the installation of the largest ultra-fast charging hub in southern Europe, located in Elche, with capacity to charge 16 vehicles simultaneously. This project was developed in collaboration with Iberdrola and Porsche Ibérica. EES is also leading public transport electrification initiatives in cities such as Barcelona and Valencia through the deployment of high-capacity chargers for municipal bus fleets.
A Vision for the Future: Digitalisation, V2G and Integration with Renewables
Eiffage Energía Sistemas envisions a future where digitalisation, bidirectional charging (V2G), and integration with renewable energy sources will be key factors. The company is promoting solutions such as solar canopies and photovoltaic self-consumption systems linked to charging points, paving the way towards a more self-sufficient and decarbonised energy model.
“Electric vehicles will become manageable energy assets, contributing to grid stability and accelerating the energy transition,” Ramón Gero explains.
Sustainability, Innovation and Commitment
With a global outlook and a strong commitment to innovation, Eiffage Energía Sistemas is strengthening its role as a driver of change in the transformation of the energy model, actively contributing to cleaner, more connected, and more efficient mobility.
