Eiffage Energía Sistemas to modernise lighting in work areas of Royal Palace in Madrid

Eiffage Energía Sistemas has been awarded the contract for the comprehensive renovation of the lighting in the work areas of the Royal Palace of Madrid, headquarters of the central services of National Heritage. This project will improve energy efficiency and working conditions for National Heritage employees.

This measure is part of the plan to improve the energy efficiency of the lighting installations in several of the palaces and historic buildings managed by National Heritage.

Replacement of equipment with state-of-the-art LED lighting

At present, many of the rooms used as offices and workshops have obsolete installations and do not meet the minimum lighting criteria established for the correct performance of tasks. This project will replace existing equipment with state-of-the-art LED lighting, using intelligent regulation and control systems, optimising energy consumption and ensuring adequate lighting for workers.

The project, with an execution period of eight months and an estimated value of €900,000, is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union–Next Generation EU.

Health and safety

In addition to improving the energy efficiency and sustainability of the Royal Palace, the project complies with the requirements established in Royal Decree 486/1997 of 14 April on minimum health and safety requirements in the workplace.

With this project, Eiffage Energía Sistemas reinforces its commitment to innovation, energy efficiency and the improvement of working conditions, contributing to the preservation and modernisation of one of the most emblematic buildings of Spain’s historical heritage.
