Eiffage Energía returns to the United Kingdom with a new renewable energy project

Eiffage Energía’s trajectory in renewable energy reaches a new goal thanks to the award of a project at the Hale Manor Farm plant in the United Kingdom. On this occasion, the company will be responsible for the electromechanical assembly and civil works of the facilities. The new work, commissioned by the British company Ralos New Energy UK Ltd. that will be finished in April this year, is not the first that the group has performed on English soil, where since 2014 it has implemented several photovoltaic installations.

It was in January of that year when Eiffage Energía first began operating in the United Kingdom at the Four Borrows and ST, Columb solar photovoltaic plant. There it performed the electrical assembly and civil works of the projects, with a power of 7.98 MWp and 7.0955 MWp respectively.

The third photovoltaic project in the country began in January 2014, at the Bishops Sutton plant, which was followed by the works at the Fairwinds plant, a turnkey project planned to supply electricity to more than 5,000 households; that of the Oaklands photovoltaic solar plant where it was responsible for civil works and complete low voltage electrical installation and, subsequently, those made in the plants of Natewood, Brynteg, MounMill, Stokes March, Little Neath, Crewkerne, Orchard, Langar Lane and Cloford, the latter completed in December 2015 and in which it was also responsible for civil works, the complete electrical installation and the installation of outdoor inverters.

In this way, Eiffage Energía has established itself in the United Kingdom as one of the key sustainable energy companies. During 2015 alone it has participated in the installation of 50 MW, which will generate energy equivalent to that consumed in more than 20,000 households, and also avoid the emission of 40,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year. In total the company is responsible for the installation of 150 MW in the country during the last two years that will supply power to 60,000 British homes and save up to 110,000 tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere annually. These results are in line with the new British Government objectives, which aims to give a significant boost to the renewable energy sector achieving 20 gigawatts of photovoltaic energy by 2020.

In addition to the United Kingdom, Eiffage Energía’s prolific activity in the area of renewable energy in other countries within and outside Europe should be emphasised, with ongoing projects in Italy, France, Portugal, Poland, Belgium and Chile.
