Eiffage Energía’s most important substations

Eiffage energy stands out as a benchmark company in the construction of substations in Spain and internationally. Eiffage Energía currently has more than 50 implemented substations and 2,400 MVAs in different voltages and types from 45 KV to 400 KV.

In this line of business, the company offers different services with the professionalism and commitment with which each project is implemented. Among the services offered the following are included: turnkey projects, basic and detailed engineering, development of control and protection projects, electromechanical assembly, maintenance and operation of substations, among many others.

The professionalism with which each substations project is implemented is done integrally including engineering, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance. A distinguishing feature of Eiffage Energía’s process of implementation for each of its customers.

Below, we list the most important substations that the company has built so far, which are those of Huatacondo, the mega-project of Eiffage Energía in Chile.

  • San Simón sectioning 220 kV substation

-Fill material volume: 37,088 m3

-High-voltage drive equipment

  • Five (5) three pole switches
  • Ten (10) three-phase line breakers unearthed
  • Three (3) three-phase line breakers earthed

-High-voltage measuring equipment

  • Thirty (30) current transformers
  • Seventeen (17) power transformers

-Three (3) prefabricated electrical rooms

  • B/S Santa Rita booster 23/220 kV substation

-Fill material volume: 1,514 m3

-One (1) booster transformer 23/220 kV, 100 MVA

-Drive equipment

  • One (1) power switch
  • One (1) three-phase line breaker
  • One (1) set of medium voltage cells

-One (1) prefabricated electrical room

  • 1×220 kV Transmission Line B/S Santa Rita – B/S San Simón

-Amount of assembled steel: 138 tons

-Single circuit

-One (1) Flint conductor per phase

-One (1) OPGW communication cable

-Twenty-seven (27) lattice type support structures

  • Sectioning of the TL Crucero – Lagunas

-Amount of assembled steel: 23 tons

-One (1) Flint conductor per phase

-Two (2) lattice type support structures

-The implementation of this work will involve the intervention of one of the main transmission lines of the electrical system in the North of Chile, property of the company Transelec, which is the main energy transmitter in the country.

  • Overall Figures

-Quantity of steel assembled in substations 112 tons

-Direct linkage with National Electrical Coordinator (electricity authority), Transelec and ISA InterChile, with which, since the beginning of the project, the coordination of connection of the project in different aspects associated with each of them has been managed.

-Implementation of communications systems based on carrier wave, fibre optic and microwave technology.
