AVE Galicia. The board of directors of ADIF has awarded the projects related to the electrification of the section between Monforte and Lugo; and the reinforcement of the power supply to the track between Ourense and Monforte station. Actions that are part of the project to revamp the railway between Ourense and Lugo. Works to connect Lugo with the high-speed railway, which will enter Galicia through Ourense.
Electrical substation and transformer stations
One of these projects is the construction of an electrical substation in Oural; two final transformer stations; and eight intermediate auto-transformer stations at different points along the route between Ourense and Lugo. In this case, Eiffage Energía, in a joint venture with TELICE S.A., are the companies awarded a contract worth more than 15 million euros, with a completion period of 25 months.
These works are essential to allow electric trains to run between Monforte and Lugo, in addition to improving the infrastructure that provides power to the track between Ourense and Monforte. This contract is divided into two phases. The first involves the construction of six autotransformer stations at different points along the track and a traction substation in Oural (Sarria). The second includes the installation of two transformer stations to supply energy to the safety installations of this route, which will be located at the Os Peares and Canaval (Sober) stations.
It should be recalled that in 2019 ADIF also awarded Eiffage Energía, in a joint venture with TELICE S.A, the works and maintenance of the autotransformer and energy remote control centres of the Pedralba-Orense section of the Madrid-Galicia high-speed line. The works involved the construction of various auto-transformer stations for the power supply system to the catenary planned by ADIF for the aforementioned High Speed section. A project that we successfully performed and that has now brought us back together again.
