On 3 June, the Deputy Minister of Employment, Social Dialogue, and Health and Safety of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, Nuria Berta Chust Martínez, visited the facilities of Eiffage Energía Sistemas in Albacete.
The purpose of this visit, during which she was accompanied by our CEO, José Manuel Martínez, was to conduct an in-depth analysis of our company’s activities to improve the health and well-being of its workers, as well as to promote a health culture.
José Manuel Martínez described some of the preventive activities carried out by the company, particularly in the field of health promotion.
Company commitment to health promotion
During the meeting, Eiffage Energía Sistemas’ participation in the Spanish Network of Healthy Companies was discussed. Since May 2020, our company has been committed to the Luxembourg Declaration, demonstrating our commitment to promoting the health of our workers.
The objective of this network is to identify and raise awareness of examples of good Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) practices through the exchange of experiences and knowledge.
With this, the European Union is encouraging member states to prioritise Workplace Health Promotion and to incorporate occupational health issues into their respective policy programmes.
Modern business strategy
Promoting health in the workplace leads to a reduction in diseases and their associated costs, an increase in productivity, and a healthier, more motivated workforce with higher morale and a better working environment.
It is a modern business strategy that aims to prevent occupational risks (including work-related illnesses, accidents, injuries, occupational diseases, and stress) and to increase the individual capacity of the workforce to maintain their health and quality of life.
Finally, the meeting discussed the guidelines for collaboration between the company’s technical bodies and the Deputy Ministry, to ensure continuity and continuous improvement of the good practices in place at Eiffage Energía Sistemas.
