José Manuel Martínez, CEO of Eiffage Energía Sistemas and the group’s representative for Spain and Portugal, attended the opening of the 1st Industry Forum of Castilla-La Mancha in Albacete. During the event, the company was recognized as a leading business figure within the region.
In his opening speech, the President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, highlighted the pivotal role that Eiffage Energía Sistemas plays in the region. He praised the group’s contribution to strengthening the business community in Castilla-La Mancha, as well as its impact on job creation, talent attraction, and driving new investment into the region.
Strategic Vision for the Group in Castilla-La Mancha
The Regional Minister of Economy, Business, and Employment, Patricia Franco, underscored the vital importance of the industrial sector in Castilla-La Mancha. The sector currently accounts for 17% of regional employment—three percentage points above the national average —and contributes 20.6% to the region’s GDP, reflecting its significant weight in the local economy.
Against this backdrop, last March, Benoît de Ruffray (Chairman and CEO of the Eiffage Group) and José Manuel Martínez met with President Emiliano García-Page. The purpose of this institutional meeting was to outline the core pillars of the company’s 2026–2030 strategic plan.
In this regard, Eiffage, through its subsidiary Eiffage Energía Sistemas, anticipates sustained growth in both turnover and employment. The company has set an ambitious target to reach a turnover close to €2 billion and expand its workforce to 10,000 employees, consolidating its role as one of the region’s leading industrial powerhouses.
During the meeting, Patricia Franco highlighted the company’s positive impact on regional development. She noted that Castilla-La Mancha has reached record-breaking foreign investment figures, with over €9 billion in fixed assets and more than 75,700 direct jobs linked to international companies, establishing itself as a premier environment for business growth and high value-added projects.
Financial Strength Amid Geopolitical Uncertainty
One of the core topics addressed during the Forum’s opening was the current geopolitical climate and its impact on Europe’s economic and industrial development.
In this context, Eiffage presented strong Q1 2026 financial results, proving the resilience of its diversified business model and its solid positioning within Europe’s major energy and industrial transitions.
The Group surpassed €5.6 billion in revenue and achieved a historic order book of €31.1 billion, allowing it to maintain a positive outlook for the remainder of the fiscal year.
The company’s growth continues to be driven by the energy transition, industrial electrification, and sustainable infrastructure development—all crucial sectors where the Group maintains a prominent international presence.
Flagship Projects in the Region
Albacete University Hospital Complex
Eiffage Energía Sistemas is playing a key role in the expansion and renovation of the Albacete University Hospital. The company is responsible for the electrical, mechanical, and control installations, as well as managing key phases of the project’s execution.
This project represents a landmark infrastructure milestone for Castilla-La Mancha, delivering a major healthcare, economic, technological, and social impact. Furthermore, the new hospital complex will help modernize public services and promote a more efficient and sustainable model.
Campanario Solar PV Park
Eiffage Energía Sistemas successfully delivered the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract for the Campanario photovoltaic park, a project promoted by Elawan Energy valued at over €120 million. Located between Bonete and Higueruela (Albacete), the project involved building five 50 MWp solar plants, reaching a total capacity of 250 MWp. The company is currently managing the operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the facility.
A key feature of the project is its 3.4-kilometer grid connection line, which links the facility to Europe’s largest renewable energy hub, reinforcing Castilla-La Mancha’s position as a vital player in the national energy landscape.
Eiffage Energía Sistemas Headquarters
The construction of Eiffage Energía Sistemas’ headquarters in Albacete back in 2019 was a milestone for the company’s growth and consolidation.
This move has brought significant economic and social benefits to Castilla-La Mancha, contributing to the creation of highly skilled jobs and strengthening the local business network.
Keeping its headquarters in Albacete also reinforces the region’s standing as a hub for energy innovation and the green transition.
Airbus Industrial Logistics Hub
The Airbus Industrial Logistics Hub in Albacete has become a key asset for Castilla-La Mancha, positioning the region as a national benchmark in the industrial and aerospace sectors. The involvement of Eiffage Energía Sistemas showcases the company’s capability to deliver highly complex technical infrastructure with high added value.
Passivhaus Imaginalia
The Passivhaus Imaginalia residential development by Conscytec in Albacete is a pioneering project for Castilla-La Mancha, marking the region’s first multi-family housing development to achieve Passivhaus certification. This initiative puts Albacete at the forefront of sustainable construction and boosts the region’s profile in innovation and energy efficiency within the residential sector.
Additionally, this development helps drive a new approach to construction in Castilla-La Mancha, fully aligned with European sustainability goals and nearly zero-energy building (NZEB) standards. Executing a project of this nature highlights the capability of local companies to lead innovative developments tailored to future energy and environmental challenges.
Eiffage Energía Sistemas has firmly established itself as a foundational pillar of economic, industrial, and energy development in Castilla-La Mancha. Its involvement in major, large-scale projects reinforces the region’s role as a driving force behind the energy transition and industrial innovation in Spain.
