Eiffage Energía Sistemas has completed the energy retrofit of the Patrimonio Sindical Acumulado (PSA) buildings in Huesca and Tarazona (Zaragoza), working for the State Property Management Company (SEGIPSA). Financed with European NextGenerationEU funds, the works fall within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
Works in Huesca
Here we focused on upgrading the building envelope and modernising the interior installations.
On the envelope, we replaced all the external joinery and fitted an External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS) to the façade. This solution cuts heat loss significantly and improves indoor comfort with no work required inside the occupied space. We also built a new roof using an Onduline under-tile system, which makes the roof more watertight and improves the building’s thermal performance.
Inside, we upgraded the lighting with a DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) system, a technology that allows precise, programmable lighting control and, with it, energy savings.
Works in Tarazona (Zaragoza)
In Tarazona, the Patrimonio Sindical building also underwent a comprehensive overhaul covering both its external envelope and its interior installations.
Outside, the façade was treated and repaired, then finished with a special paint system that shields it from damp, pollution and solar radiation, extending the service life of the coating.
We also replaced all the external joinery with better-insulated units, cutting air infiltration. Alongside this, a solar shading system was installed to control solar gain in the months of strongest sunlight, helping keep indoor temperatures steadier and the summer cooling load down.
Lastly, we completely replaced the roof waterproofing system.
For building services, the ground floor now has a climate control system based on VRV technology, so temperatures in different zones of the building can be managed independently, with heating or cooling output matched to the actual demand of each space.
On the first floor, we integrated a hybrid air-source heat pump system with the existing gas boilers.
