Eiffage Energía has been awarded a contract by Acciona Energía for the construction of a new wind farm in Poland, which represents a further boost to the company’s growing internationalization. The wind farm, which will be equipped with 11 wind turbines, each with 3 MW, is located in western Poland, near the town of Gostyn. The power produced by the plant will supply electricity to more than 20,000 households, which will bolster the country’s energy security and prevent harmful emissions of 40,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. The project, which includes the execution of civil works and labour for completing electrical work, is planned to be completed in the month of October 2015. Other projects completed in Poland This project comes in addition to the construction in 2012 of the Pawlowo wind farmin north-western Poland’s Poznan region, with 53 1.5 MW (megawatts) wind turbines. The wind farm was built for EDPR (EDP Renováveis) with a budget of 11 million euros. The turnkey construction, which included both civil and electrical works, was completed in September 2013 when the wind farm was opened. The wind farm has the capacity to supply electricity to 80,000 homes.
