Benoît de Ruffray, Chairman and CEO of the Eiffage Group, has visited Spain to attend the Encuentro País meeting held at the headquarters of Eiffage Energía Sistemas in Albacete, underscoring the country’s strategic importance within the Group.
During his visit, accompanied by José Manuel Martínez, CEO of the Eiffage Energía Sistemas Group and Eiffage’s representative in Spain and Portugal, he held an official meeting with the President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, at the Palacio de Fuensalida in Toledo, following a prior appearance before the media.
The meeting was also attended by Christian Cassayre, Chief Financial Officer of the Eiffage Group, and Pedro Antonio Ruiz Santos, Delegate of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha in Albacete.
During the meeting, the Group outlined the key points of its 2026–2030 strategic plan, which projects sustained growth in both turnover and employment. In this regard, Eiffage, through its subsidiary Eiffage Energía Sistemas, has set an ambitious target of achieving a turnover of around €2 billion and a workforce of up to 10,000 people in Castilla-La Mancha, thereby consolidating its role as one of the region’s leading industrial drivers.
This growth will be underpinned by a combination of organic development and strategic acquisitions, with initiatives currently underway at various stages in regions such as Madrid, Toledo, Catalonia, Andalusia, and Spain’s Levante region, which will enable the Group to strengthen its technical and operational capacity in Spain.
The Regional Minister for the Economy, Business and Employment, Patricia Franco Jiménez, highlighted the company’s impact on the regional economy, emphasising that Castilla-La Mancha has achieved record figures in foreign investment, with over €9 billion in fixed assets and more than 75,700 direct jobs linked to international companies, reflecting a stable and business-friendly environment.
As part of this agenda, Benoît de Ruffray visited the MAD2 data centre campus in San Agustín del Guadalix to gain first-hand insight into the strategic projects of the Eiffage Energía Sistemas Group in Spain.
This project under the management of CAP INGELEC, involves a campus designed to accommodate four buildings. The company is currently carrying out the low- and medium-voltage electrical installations for the second building, as well as the electromechanical assembly of two key substations:
- The 66/20 kV “Los Ardales” substation, which will be transferred to i-DE.
- The 66/20 kV DATA4 “Ardales” substation, intended to supply the client directly.
The campus represents an investment of €530 million by DATA4 and will feature over 16,000 m² of IT space and a total power capacity of 80 MW, of which approximately 48 MW will be dedicated to IT power. In the building currently under construction by Eiffage Energía Sistemas, the planned capacity will reach 12 MW of IT power.
The delegation also visited the renovation works on the façades of the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital, which are in their final phase.
These initiatives further strengthen the position of the Eiffage Energía Sistemas Group as a key player in the development of critical energy infrastructure for digitalisation, in line with the Group’s energy transition and sustainable growth objectives.
