Eiffage Energía in UTE (Temporary Union of Companies) with its subsidiary Ambitec, has been awarded the lot 4 for HVAC and plumbing of the new Teruel Hospital, with a budget of 14.5 million euros. With extensive experience in mechanical and electrical installations, both Eiffage Energía and its subsidiary Ambitec have developed similar projects in hospitals, clinics and health centres all over Spain.
According to the Health Ministry of the Regional Government of Aragón, the construction of the new Teruel hospital will begin in March 2019, from when 46 months of implementation and a budget of over 101 million euros have been foreseen. It is the first construction which is implemented in the Community in accordance with the new contracts’ law and which obliges the project to be auctioned in lots.
The New Hospital will have 64.423,61 m² of construction of which 53.930,15 m² correspond to healthcare area and 10.493,46 m² to facilities. It is divided into four main levels (basement, ground floor and two upper floors) as well as spaces in roofs which serve to house technical equipment and installations. The new hospital will replace the old Obispo Polanco hospital of Teruel.
This project also contemplates a centre with 78 double rooms (156 beds) plus 56 single rooms (49 single rooms and 7 multi-use rooms, which can be used as double or single rooms, and which will be located in the Obstetric Service). In total, there are 212 beds which can become 219 if necessary and to which 12 ICU beds and five newborn cots are added.
The centre will also have a surgical block with eight operating theatres, an Outpatients Surgical Hospital with ten treatment units, an ER area, an ambulatory area, outpatients medical Hospital, outpatients oncology Hospital, outpatients psychiatric Hospital, and a hemodialysis area, as well as new pathological anatomy, microbiology and clinical analysis laboratories and an ER service which is comprehensive and adapted to needs.
With this award the presence of Eiffage Energía in the Northern Area is strengthened with the implementation of a unique construction which will demonstrate its capacity and technical expertise.
