SGA installs a control and monitoring system in one of the most innovative hotels in Spain

Hotel Ansares

Hotel Ansares. The Hotel Ansares****, in Tarancon, is one of the few hotels that has opened its doors this year, despite the difficult situation. A modern hotel, designed for comfort, it strives to deliver the best possible guest experience. Equipped with the latest technological innovations, it allows guests to check in and out of the hotel using their mobile phones, which avoids crowding in common areas. Our Management and Automation Systems department, SGA Solutions, which is part of our Inelbo subsidiary, installed a system that enables the hotel to carry out fully centralised control and monitoring of all types of processes. The Hotel Ansares, which opened in August of this year, is equipped with the latest technologies to automate all types of systems, from lighting and climate control to daily work scheduling for employees. The software engages directly with the hotel’s PMS, centralising all information and streamlining the response in real time.

SGA Building: control, supervision and monitoring

SGA Building is one of SGA’s business lines. It focuses on providing automation solutions for all types of buildings through the use of purpose-built software. For the Hotel Ansares****, a system has been developed that is completely tailored to its needs. This includes everything from control of air conditioning and lighting in the rooms and common areas to monitoring of consumption and alerts. In addition, SGA Building personnel configured the control application to engage directly with the hotel management system. This allows all the information to be centralised and streamlines process systematisation.

Integration with the PMS

A hotel PMS, also known as a hotel management system, is a specialised computer application that improves the management of a hotel. It makes it possible to organise, schedule and manage all areas much more efficiently. One of the most important innovations implemented in the project was full integration of the control software with the PMS using technologies based on web services. This action allows the hotel to have real-time information on all stays. Since all booking information is in the system, integration with the software makes it possible to program all types of interactions. One of them consisted of creating arrival and departure scenarios for the rooms. This enables the hotel to bring the room to a comfortable temperature before the arrival of the guests, and to turn off everything when they leave to avoid unnecessary expenses.

Fully automated rooms

Each of the 70 rooms has three touchscreens for lighting and climate control. This makes it possible to offer guests an innovative experience and total control over the room. The rooms are equipped with several sensors that help the hotel to know the status of each room in real time. This allows it to prevent problems that may arise and to monitor consumption. Control is a key element, contributing to the operational efficiency of the entire hotel. It makes it possible to detect any complication or maintenance need immediately. This enables Hotel Ansares**** to offer its guests a unique experience, with all the comfort and convenience they expect.

Consumption control in common areas

The common areas are equipped with presence and light detectors which help improve energy efficiency. In areas with dimmable lighting, such as the events room and the front desk, the hotel is able to create different scenarios customised to the needs of the moment using the touchscreens. To monitor consumption, different energy control meters have been installed throughout the hotel. The control system collects and analyses all the information and displays it graphically for better interpretation. The monitored consumption covers a wide variety of energy consuming elements, such as air conditioning circuits, vehicle chargers, photovoltaic installations, water pumping machinery and boiler rooms.

Real-time notifications via Telegram

Telegram is a cloud-based messaging app for mobile devices and computers with a focus on security and speed. It has become consolidated as one of the largest instant messaging platforms in use today. This app makes it possible to create groups and send all types of attachments. This is why, for the hotel’s internal communication, SGA was able to integrate the software with the messaging app and automate schedule and maintenance communication processes. This means workers receive daily work schedules via Telegram based on the different room statuses and hotel occupancy. The software also allows the maintenance department to receive updated notifications of any type of alarm that might be triggered in relation to consumption or general malfunctions.
