Eiffage Energía Sistemas builds the 16 MW El Tomillar photovoltaic plant in Albacete

Eiffage Energía Sistemas is going to build for Asterion Energies the 16.3 MWp El Tomillar photovoltaic plant in Las Anorias (Albacete), together with its evacuation infrastructure.

El Tomillar will be built on an area of land occupying 28.61 hectares. It will consist of 24,810 655W and 660W photovoltaic modules, on 437 solar trackers with 1 horizontal axis.

El Tomillar

The El Tomillar photovoltaic plant will prevent the emission of 6,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year, while generating energy equivalent to the annual consumption of 9,000 homes.

For this purpose, Eiffage Energía Sistemas has signed an agreement with Solar Steel to supply the 16 MW trackers.

The construction of this photovoltaic plant will be a step towards a sustainable and emission-free world.

Local employment

This new infrastructure, the construction of which will take a year, has created more than 200 jobs. Both direct and indirect employment, during the construction, operation and maintenance phases.

Priority was given to hiring companies from Almería for its development, as well as personnel from nearby towns, such as Pétrola, Las Anorias and Montealegre del Castillo.
