Eiffage Energía Sistemas has reached a partnership agreement with the Association of Tyre Distributors and Importers (ADINE) to enable ADINE member companies, particularly tyre replacement workshops, to access the Energy Saving Certificate (ESC) scheme.
This partnership will enable certain energy efficiency measures to be transformed into an opportunity for financial return for companies in the sector, whilst contributing to the reduction of energy consumption and the transition towards a more economical model.
What is the Energy Saving Certificate (ESC) scheme?
The Energy Saving Certificate (ESC) scheme is a mechanism promoted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) that enables the recognition and monetisation of energy savings achieved through energy efficiency measures.
Under this scheme, companies that implement improvements—such as replacing equipment with more efficient models, optimising processes or upgrading facilities—can generate certified energy savings. These savings are converted into ESCs, which can be sold to obligated parties within the scheme, thereby generating an additional financial return.
In sectors such as tyre maintenance and replacement, various measures are capable of generating these certificates, including:
- The replacement of compressors
- Lighting systems
- Air conditioning equipment
- Improving energy efficiency in facilities
Eiffage Energía Sistemas, Delegated Entity of the ESC system
The Eiffage Energía Sistemas Group acts as a Delegated Entity within the Energy Saving Certificate scheme. This enables it to support companies throughout the process of identifying, quantifying and managing the energy savings resulting from their energy efficiency measures.
Thanks to this role, workshops and companies affiliated with ADINE will be able to access the scheme quickly and easily, with the technical and administrative support necessary to process the certificates and obtain the corresponding financial benefit.
An opportunity for the tyre sector
The agreement between ADINE and the Eiffage Energía Sistemas Group aims to take this mechanism to a sector with significant potential for energy improvement. Many garages invest in more efficient equipment or modernise their facilities without realising that these measures could generate Energy Saving Certificates.
Pedro Acosta, director of the Energy Efficiency department at the Eiffage Energía Sistemas Group, said:
“The ESC system represents a great opportunity to transform energy efficiency measures into economic value. Under the agreement with ADINE, we aim to make it easier for companies in the tyre sector to access this system, providing the technical and administrative support necessary for identifying the energy savings generated and managing the entire certification process.”
Boosting the energy transition in SMEs
With this collaboration, the Eiffage Energía Sistemas Group and ADINE aim to promote the adoption of energy efficiency measures among companies in the tyre sector, providing tools to improve their competitiveness, reduce energy costs and contribute to decarbonisation targets.
The initiative also represents an opportunity for partner workshops and distributors to transform existing investments, or future energy improvements, into a tangible financial return, integrating energy efficiency as a strategic element of their business.
