José Manuel Martínez, CEO of Eiffage Energía Sistemas and Eiffage’s representative for Iberia, recently spoke with the Valencian daily newspaper Las Provincias. The interview features in “Who’s Who in Energy in the Valencian Community”, a special supplement highlighting the region’s leading energy companies, executives, and projects.
During the interview, Martínez underscored the strategic importance of the Valencian Community as a pivotal hub for the energy transition.
Eiffage Energía Sistemas has significantly expanded its footprint here in recent years, consolidating its market position by executing major projects across all business units.
This expansion was further accelerated last summer when the Group acquired seven companies. Each acquisition specialises in critical sectors that complement and enhance the technical and technological capabilities of Eiffage Energía Sistemas.
Quart de Poblet: The new strategic hub for Eiffage Energía Sistemas
A central theme of the interview was the construction progress of the company’s new Valencian headquarters in Quart de Poblet.
Spanning nearly 6,000 m², the complex will house an office building, a warehouse, landscaped grounds, and dedicated storage and training zones.
The project is a collaborative effort within the Group: Eiffage Energía Sistemas is managing the installations, while Eiffage Conscytec oversees the civil engineering works. Designed to strict low-carbon building standards, the new headquarters incorporates advanced engineering solutions and eco-efficient materials to minimise energy consumption and environmental impact.
Furthermore, the Group’s subsidiary, SGAC, will integrate advanced building automation and control systems.
Beyond its technical credentials, the headquarters will deliver a substantial socio-economic boost to the area, anchoring the company’s regional presence while creating over 250 direct and 1,000 indirect jobs.
Flagship projects in the Valencian Community
“The Valencian Community is establishing itself as a vital region for the energy transition, industrial innovation, and strategic infrastructure development—all areas where Eiffage Energía Sistemas plays a leading role,” José Manuel Martínez noted.
In the utility sector, the company is developing major photovoltaic plants, including Cofrentes I (184 MW) and Ayora I (182 MW). It is also managing the hybridisation and grid connection of the Duquesa plant, boosting renewable capacity and optimising the grid through advanced storage and management systems.
Martínez also focused heavily on the company’s urban and civic projects. He highlighted flagship developments such as the Roig Arena, the modernisation of the Valencia Bullring, and sustainable mobility initiatives—including solar trees and the electrification of EMT València’s bus depots—which are actively driving the city’s decarbonisation.
The company is equally active in industrial and technological infrastructure, spearheaded by projects like the NXN Datacenters facility, highly specialised industrial plants, and automation systems for the healthcare and food sectors.
Additionally, Las Provincias explored the company’s extensive work in comprehensive facilities maintenance and electromedicine, where it manages public infrastructure and medical equipment across Valencian hospitals, care centres, and law courts.
Ultimately, the interview positions Eiffage Energía Sistemas at the very centre of large-scale infrastructure development, cementing its role as a key driver of economic growth and modernisation across the Valencian Community.
