The official launch of ESA BIC Castilla-La Mancha marks a milestone for technological and business development in our region. The European Space Agency’s (ESA) new business incubator, located in the Castilla-La Mancha Science and Technology Park, will foster new technology startups based on space technology over the coming years and promote knowledge transfer to strategic sectors of the economy.
The official launch of this initiative brought together leading figures from institutional, academic and business spheres in Albacete, including the President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page; the Director of the Castilla-La Mancha Science and Technology Park, Agustín Moreno; the Director of the Spanish Space Agency and Chair of the European Space Agency Council, Juan Carlos Cortés; and the Rector of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, José Julián Garde. Their presence highlighted the strategic importance of a project designed to strengthen Castilla-La Mancha’s position within the European innovation and technological entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Support from the outset
At Eiffage Energía Sistemas, we welcome the realization of an initiative we have supported since its earliest stages of development, convinced of its ability to drive innovation, attract talent and enhance Castilla-La Mancha’s competitiveness.
In early 2025, the company formally expressed its support for the bid put forward by the Castilla-La Mancha Science and Technology Park Foundation to bring the region into the European Space Agency’s network of business incubators. That commitment has now become a reality and will help position Castilla-La Mancha within one of Europe’s most significant innovation ecosystems.
A milestone for Castilla-La Mancha
ESA BIC Castilla-La Mancha has been created to support the establishment and growth of tech companies capable of transforming developments from the space sector into practical solutions applicable to industries such as energy, sustainability, digitalization, agriculture, mobility and telecommunications. The initiative plans to incubate at least 12 tech startups over the coming years, providing them with funding, specialized advisory services and access to international innovation networks.
For Eiffage Energía Sistemas, promoting this type of project is essential to consolidating a favorable environment for innovation, collaboration between companies and knowledge centers, and the generation of highly skilled jobs.
The Group’s involvement in the aerospace sector

This is demonstrated by the Group’s involvement in strategic infrastructure associated with the Ariane 6 programme.
The Group participated in the construction of the launch pad for the Ariane 6 rocket for CNES (the French government’s National Centre for Space Studies) and ESA, located at the Guiana Space Centre in French Guiana. This serves as an example of the role that engineering and innovation play in delivering international-scale projects.
